Soho House
Washington D.C.

Fall 2022

Just north of the Capitol building and steps away from Union Station in Washington D.C., this design is a proposal for a new SOHO House location in America's Capitol. As hallmarks of the SOHO brand, the design incorporates dining and bars, co-working spaces, social lounges, a fitness center, and 85 hotel rooms.

I chose to design in the Art Deco style, important in the history of American cities. The style offers an opportunity to focus on artistic details while maintaining a vertical and symmetrical composition as a whole.

I was challenged in this design by height constraints of D.C., the brand values and goals of SOHO House, integration and connection of hotel functions, and the understanding of a new architectural language I had not yet explored.
